Lulu’s Room
Lulu’s Room was created for a dog named Lulu, who came to CNY SPCA in 2017 from a cruelty case—hungry, scared, and unsure of people. Though she eventually bonded with a few staff members, kennel life was difficult for her. Staff created a quiet, safe space just for Lulu, giving her comfort and peace during her time at the shelter. Lulu sadly passed from cancer in 2019, but her legacy continues through every dog helped by the room named in her honor. It’s a place for dogs who have been with us a long time, or a dog that needs a place to decompress. It is set a bit away from the kennels, has a “doggy door”, a TV that movies run on daily, and a place for staff to sit and spend some quiet time with the current resident.
Without the generous donations of people like you, this space would not have been possible. This room has its own A/C and heating unit and a large outrun.
