Animal Admissions
Surrendering Your Pet to the CNYSPCA
Giving up a pet is a very difficult and emotional decision. At the CNYSPCA, we understand that some circumstances cannot be overcome and we offer shelter and care for these pets. We are only able to accept owner surrenders from Onondaga County.
We are unable to accept animals that are in need of medical care or euthanasia or animals that have bitten. We cannot accept animals that show aggression toward people or other animals. For those services please contact your veterinarian.
We can only accept animals based on available space and appointments MUST be made for surrender. At the present time, we are unable to take animals from outside of Onondaga County. The CNYSPCA is not able to take in feral cats.
We want to provide your pet with the best possible care we can for their well being and in order to give them the best possible chance for adoption into a loving home. We need your help to make this possible. We ask for a minimum service fee when you are turning in your pet(s).
Please email: Vetcenter@cnyspca.org to schedule an appointment.
