For the first time, the CNYSPCA is holding a calendar contest! If you share your life with a pet, we invite you to submit photos. The shelter will be printing both a 2009 Cat Calendar and 2009 Dog Calendar.

How to Enter:

Submit a good quality 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 photo of your pet only – NO PEOPLE. All pictures printed from a digital camera must be printed with 300 dpi resolution. This will allow us to produce the highest quality photos in our calendar. Digital photos must be printed on photo paper. Horizontal pictures are best as they comply with the format of a standard calendar. Photos will not be returned. Finalists will be required to E-mail us a copy of their entry so make sure you are able to do so. Attach a sticky note on the back of the photo with the pet’s name, owner’s name, phone number and address. Please do not write on the front or back of the photo. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any copyrighted professional photographs.

A $5.00 entry fee should be submitted with your photos. You may enter up to two photos per the $5.00 fee whether it be one cat picture, one dog picture or two of the same pet you are only required to send $5.00. Separate entry forms must be filled out for each photo. Please make checks payable to the CNYSPCA and mail with the entry form(s) below to:

Entries must be received by May 9, 2008.

How to Vote for Your Favorite Pet Entry:
Each entry will be judged by a committee. The top twenty dogs and the top twenty cats will be selected to move to the next round – the “Dollar Voting Round!” All participants will be notified if they are selected for the final voting round via mail by May 23, 2008.

The top twenty dog photos and top twenty cat photos will be on display at our shelter, on our web site and at various locations to be announced at a future date.

Voting will start May 31, 2008, at the CNYSPCA Open House and end August 23, 2008. Each vote is one dollar, with proceeds going to help the shelter animals. There is no limit to the number of votes cast. You may vote for your own photo. Encourage family, friends and neighbors to vote for your pet’s photo! Voting can be done by mail or in person at the shelter by selecting the number assigned to each photo.

The photo earning the most money for each calendar will be pictured on the cover of the calendar as well as December 2009. Winners will be notified that their photo was selected along with the month their photo will appear via mail shortly after August 23, 2008.

The Final Calendar will be unveiled and available for a $10 donation at our CNYSPCA Four-Legged Walk and Festival being held on September 14, 2008, at Long Branch Park at Onondaga Lake Park. The calendars will also be available at the shelter, or visit our web site www.cnyspca.org to download an order form to submit via mail (additional shipping and handling fees will apply).
